APS5 People and Culture Advisors work under limited supervision to conduct high quality Human Resources (HR) services and provide timely and accurate advice to employees and managers.
Advisors must be adaptable and responsive to the needs of the workforce, exercise sound and justifiable judgement when problem solving and demonstrate an ability to build strong professional working relationships with stakeholders.
We are recruiting a number of Advisors in People and Culture to support a growing HR function responsible for:
- Organisational Management
- Recruitment and Onboarding
- Culture Diversity and Inclusion
- Employee Conditions and Industrial Relations
- Workplace Health and Safety
- Rehabilitation and Compensation
- Learning and Development
- Workforce Reporting
Advisors may be required to work across multiple streams or specialise in a particular function.
Positions will be offered based on operational requirements and individual skills and preferences.
**Duties**
- Provide legislation and policy guidance on a range of HR matters including but not limited to industrial relations, recruitment, workforce safety and wellbeing, workforce management and Culture, Diversity and Inclusion.
- Assist with the management of HR events across regions, participate and contribute to committees, networks and working groups to deliver people and culture initiatives.
- Provide advice and recommendations on moderately complex issues and partner with clients to develop tailored and innovative HR processes.
- Provide high level customer service and logístical support to stakeholders at various stages of the employee life cycle.
- Manage and lead small continuous improvement activities to support the development of the function and create efficiencies.
- Performing other general reporting and administrative activities that support the People & Culture function.
**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated ability to provide legislation and policy interpretation and guidance on industrial relations, recruitment, workforce safety and wellbeing, workforce management and succession planning as relevant.
- Well-developed organisational and administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise and manage work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure, both in terms of effectively prioritising and delivering a high volume of work, whilst maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels, including managers and executives.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team to achieve client focused outcomes.
**Highly Desirable**
- Qualifications in Human Resources
- Experience delivering HR services in the Australian Public Service
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply._
