The Daffodil Centre combines the complementary strengths of these two partners to concentrate cancer control research expertise, accelerating the partners' aims towards the realisation of a cancer free future. It is an exciting time to join the team **About the role** This is an exciting 36-month contract (4 days a week) role to work towards building a world class research program in cervical cancer control and in helping develop a key area of work in intellectual disability and cancer screening. The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will contribute to a mixed methods externally funded Targeted Cancer Research grant (ScreenEQUAL) focusing on overcoming inequity by increasing cervical screening participation for people with intellectual disability. The key responsibilities of the role will be to: - Lead the overall project management of the ScreenEQUAL grant and contribute to the design and conduct of the project, under the supervision of the Professor of Practice. - Facilitate data collection, management, and analysis. - Support the development and maintenance of the study website, social media presence and newsletters. - Liaise with research stakeholders including collaborators, government bodies, and Advisory Group members. - Support the dissemination of project findings, through drafting and delivery of high-quality peer review papers, scientific reports, and oral presentations. - Regularly liaise with supervisor to ensure research objectives are met in a timely fashion and project deadlines are adhered to. - Mentor junior academic staff and supervise professional staff - Contribution to the preparation of research proposal submissions to external funding bodies **About You** - PhD in relevant discipline and significant relevant experience (academic or other) in the field of epidemiology, public health, and/or cancer research - Eligible for a Level A, appointment at an Australian university - Excellent written communication and report writing skills - Proficiency in statistical analysis and software such as SAS or STATA - Proficiency in systematic reviews and meta-analysis - Ability to engage other people within an organisation and externally, to achieve organisational goals - Ability to independently solve problems - High level interpersonal and verbal communication skills including conference presentations - Willingness to learn appropriate research methods to work with people with a lived experience of intellectual disability Desirable: - Proven publication record in peer-reviewed journals - Experience qualitative research methodology - Experience of working with people with a lived experience of intellectual disability **About the Benefits** - Work for purpose and know that your work fosters an engaged, diverse and culturally aware organisation. - Access to flexible work arrangements including a balanced approach to WFH and office. - Generous salary packaging options that can increase your take home pay by paying certain expenses using pre-tax dollars up to $15,900 a year. - Additional performance-based leave available. - Discounts available for everyday expenses such as private health, retail and fitness. - Recognised for Voice Project's 2021 "Best Workplace" Award and "Change Champion" Award.
