Weir Minerals is looking for an experienced Category Manger - Indirect and Services to join our Procurement team in Artarmon and / or Wetherill Park

The purpose of the role is to understand the real requirements of the organisation across a variety of dimensions other than simply the specification, and translate the organisation's policy and business goals into congruent functional strategies.

The key responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:

- Total national Indirect spend analyses based on historical information through the supply market (local, overseas)
- Identification of new suppliers and management of new and existing suppliers (local, overseas)
- Development of category sourcing strategies (where to buy considering tender requirements, demand and supply situation, while minimizing risk and costs)
- Conduct RFx’s on national and Group level
- Negotiation with suppliers (products, service levels, prices, liabilities/warranties, geographical coverage, etc.)
- Negotiation and execution of Supply Agreements
- Indirect Category representation within the Weir Group
- Work with Legal and Finance to develop contracting standards and policies, insuring all contracts are developed in accordance with company and Group guidelines.
- Ensure contractors and suppliers’ selection criteria include a thorough supplier price, technical, safety, environment, risk and quality performance assessment before the supplier / contractor is selected.
- Develop a system of monitoring supplier / contractor performance on a regular frequency basis, in terms of compliance to company safety, environment, quality requirements and total cost of ownership.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and corporate legal staff to prepare legally binding and enforceable documents.
- Negotiate and execute supply agreements on national and Group level.
- Manage customer / supplier contracts for compliance ensuring successful resolution of all business objectives.
- Analyse national and Group total category spend.
- Prepare and implement national sourcing strategies for category.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- At least 5 years’ experience in Strategic Indirect Category Management, Contract Management, Supplier Management and business related disciplines,
- Tertiary qualifications in procurement, logistics and supply chain, engineering or business management.
- High level understanding of the legal and contractual framework for supply chain operations
- Experience using a large ERP system - examples are SAP, Oracle, Pronto
- Experience using P2P system - examples are Coupa, SAP Ariba
- Ability to communicate to stakeholders of all levels
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
