**About the role**
The LNIDS Purchasing Officer will be responsible for conducting urgent and high priority procurement activities in support of NSM for both services and materials within our Landing Helicopter Dock program. Based in Garden Island, the role will work closely with the logistic coordinator and various stakeholders to ensure urgent and high priority materials and services are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. The role will oversee the tracking and coordination of materials and services to support defect rectification. Responsibilities could include:
- Work as directed in the raising of urgent and high priority purchase orders and expediting delivery;
- Monitor and action requests through the LNIDS system;
- Working with the customer manage calibration and test equipment, when required;
- Under the direction of the Purchasing Lead engage with members of the Engineering and Maintenance teams in understanding the stores and material requirements for future ships availabilities or defect rectification;
- Engage collaboratively with all suppliers and stakeholders that are members of the NSM Supply Chain to ensure a smooth and efficient procurement process and always providing clear and accurate communication; and
- Ensure all procurement Information systems are accurate and the data contained in the systems is well maintained.

You have the ability to work autonomously and pride yourself on your ability to organise and prioritise demands and multiple, shifting priorities. You thrive in a fast-paced, complex environment and maintain composure under pressure. You will have a passion for the Defence industry and possess the following:
- Australian Citizen with Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain)
- Previous procurement experience;
- Experience and understanding in the use of MILIS, LNIDS, SAP and other ERP systems;
- Previous experience working in the Defence Industry, specifically in ship repair or sustainment;
- Experience in effective supply chain relationships;
- Proficient skills in computers: MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
