Legal Aid NSW helps people with their legal problems. We can help people with most areas criminal law, family law and every day civil law legal issues. We give legal advice, help at court and do family dispute resolution. We can do this over the telephone or at one of our 28 offices.

**About the role**

The Manager Industrial Relations and Workplace Standards works within the wider Legal Aid HR division to provide advice, manage industrial relations matters and ensure our workplace standards are maintained and adhered to. In this role, you will manage a team of two Senior Advisors (IR/ER), two HR Business Partners, one HR Advisor and one HR Project Officer. This role supports the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and professional Human Resource, Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, Enterprise Agreement and Workplace Standards across all Legal Aid NSW, which in turn support the people of Legal Aid NSW to serve our clients.

**About you**

Your ability to delegate matters, oversee and/or facilitate, at times complex matters will be of the highest standard and in the most time critical manner. Your background will be that of a professional service and/or like industry/sector. You will have dealt with matters such as enterprise agreements, arbitration, industrial relations, investigations, and complex work health safety matters.

We may use this recruitment to create a talent pool for similar ongoing or temporary vacancies we have over the next 18 months.

**The essential requirements for this role**

You must:

- Human Resources Management Qualification
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations
- Extensive demonstrated experience developing and implementing ER/IR strategies in a large, complex multi-site national organisation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Criminal Record Check
- Previous experience in managing and resolving complex workplace investigations and disciplinary matters, again, across a large complex multi-site national organisation
- Enterprise agreement facilitation, mediation, and negotiation experience in a large organisation
- Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies)

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Have previously led a team of a comparable size and nature across all aspects of HR/IR/ER
- Current knowledge of all aspects of employment law employment law, IR/ER/Workplace Standards, and Investigations
- Having led and/or managed consultations, negotiations, disputes, in a similar or alike industry or sector
- The ability to step in/up and coach managers and employees as needed as a team player
