Head of Bear, P&C Governance and Line 1 Risk

**About the Role**
Joining the team in this newly created position, you will be responsible for driving the Accountability Regime at BOQ Group, strong governance practices and strengthening and maturing the operational resilience and risk culture throughout the P&C division. You will be leading a small team to drive improvements in risk practice, help embed strong governance and provide opportunities for growth and development across the group.

As our Head of, you will lead BOQ Group’s Accountability Regime program and P&C’s Line 1 risk and governance function. This will involve leadership, coaching and development of the team members from an operational standpoint. We will also rely on your expertise to lead the delivery of our BEAR/FAR program. This element of the role is critical and as such we will be seeking an individual with oversight or an understanding of this program.

Stakeholder management and engagement will be as important as the technical expertise in this role. Your key internal stakeholders include People and Culture, Risk, Audit and Legal. Your ability to develop strong working relationships in a timely manner will be a key measurement of success and will also allow you to achieve positive business outcomes.

**About you**
We are seeking a qualified banking and finance professional with demonstrated experience in risk, compliance, or governance. You will have strong leadership capabilities and you will have worked with stakeholders at all levels, including executive.

This is a complex role, so we’ll be relying on your critical thinking, technical capabilities and problem solving ability to work through issues and provide solutions for the group. There will also be a need for you to prepare reports and submissions for senior executives, so you will ideally have experience in the area already.
