Commercial Performance Coach

The Opportunity

Bupa is a leading Health Insurance provider in Australia. Our customers include over 4.7 million Australian residents and international visitors who come to Australia as a tourist, workers, and students. We have an Opportunity for a **Commercial Performance Coach** to join our Accelerated Performance and Delivery function.

Reporting to the Head of Performance Coaching, you will use your expertise in business improvement programs to help the squads within Bupa’s Health Insurance Delivery Hub to improve their performance. The role is required to collaborate, listen, analyse, problem-solve, and give structured and constructive feedback to help people improve their capability, ensuring that any consistent challenges are surfaced and plans for remediation are captured, coordinated, and actioned collaboratively.

This is a 12-month fixed term full-time position based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney Adelaide when you are not working from home. (Bupa offers hybrid working and you can work from the office or at home)

**How will I help?**

Key accountabilities include:

- Coaching initiative owners, squad, and team members in key capabilities - agile, lean, project management, financial rigour and conceptual problem-solving - at relevant times of the initiative cycle and objective measuring capability uplift in squad members
- Identifying initiative owner and squad specific capability gaps and addressing them with other Performance Coaches, Workstream Leads, People Business Partners and the Head of Performance Coaching by supporting the development of measurable actions and programs to raise capability
- Positively challenge initiative owners, squad leads and other team members to focus on continuous improvement, supporting them see opportunities for faster, more efficient value delivery; contribute to creating an environment of continuous learning, a safe place for people to fail fast and learn. Along with other Performance coaches champion this culture across all work streams and Health Insurance at Bupa more broadly.

**What do I need?**

This role would suit someone with strong commercial aptitude, conceptual problem-solving skills, and proven experience in coaching people and teams to build technical and people capabilities, whilst delivering commercial outcomes. You will be a good communicator with excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to build engaging, authentic, and trusted relationships. Experience within Health Insurance is well regarded, but not essential.

You will be/have:

- Tertiary qualification in a business-related discipline
- Experience in large-scale change programs, particularly implementing business strategies, either in-house or supporting leading clients in management consulting
- Strong expertise in two of the following disciplines and moderate knowledge in the remaining three: agile, lean operations, project management, financial rigour / commercial modelling and conceptual problem-solving
- Experience in influencing and coaching cross-functional teams with a pragmatic, approachable and supportive coaching style
- A strong understanding of customer experience and customer centricity principles
- Demonstrated patience, resilience, and an ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Systems thinking - ability to connect pieces of work from across the business to reduce duplication of efforts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with strong listening and comprehension skills
- Enthusiasm, relentless optimism, and determination
