**About the Role**
The Manager, Library Services and Spaces leads the delivery of high-quality library services and learning spaces across the University’s six campuses and virtual platforms. Overseeing a team of Senior Librarians and a Facilities Coordinator, the role ensures consistent, student-focused service delivery across 10 library locations. This position aligns library operations with University priorities to enhance the scholarly and digital experience for staff and students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and effectively deliver client facing library services within the operational frameworks for agreed service models to ensure a superior, consistent and comparable experience for students and staff. Includes strategic planning, developing and implementing priorities and goals, strong engagement with key stakeholders (internal and external), data and reporting, building workforce capability, special projects.
- Ensure Scholarly Services’ informal learning spaces and other library spaces are developed and managed in alignment with University strategic and operational priorities, and provide an optimal student experience and are safe and well-maintained.
- Lead creative continuous improvement and implementation of operational processes and initiatives which improve service experience and efficiency, are strategically aligned and ensure that budget targets are met.
**Who we are looking for**
You will also have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and information management and staff leadership and management experience, or equivalent combination of extensive experience and education/training. Eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).
- Demonstrate COO values by acting in the best interest of your employer; displaying service excellence by striving to deliver beyond expectations and taking ownership of the delivery; and value working collaboratively, connecting with people and building relationships in your workplace.
- Extensive experience and a proven track record in leading a team to develop and deliver library services in a large and complex organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and influencing change within the workplace to promote a customer-service and innovation culture.
