**Your new role**
- Leading the business engagement for council.
- Align continuous improvement activities with organisational and business unit strategic plans.
- Develop the business engagement framework used to guide the work procedures to meet the organisation's ongoing needs and ensure the business partners follow it.
- Build strategic alignment between IT and the business through business engagement and collaboration in proactive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop the identification of business improvement opportunities, maintain an opportunities register and provide oversight of business case or initiative justification documentation.
- Provide thought leadership through sharing knowledge from industry trends and product roadmaps to influence decision-making.
- Develop trusted advisor relationships with business stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Clearly communicate the business objectives and priorities monthly/quarterly to internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a business advocate inside ITS with a focus on delivery and customer experience.
- Integrate organisational change and communication strategies to ensure staff across the organisation gain maximum benefit from its investments.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Proven capability in defining technology solutions on a global scale that enable the business strategy and secure stakeholder commitment and approval at a senior leadership level.
- Extensive knowledge across technology and digital domains including new and emerging technologies.
- Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement activities such as client requirements analysis and the support of clients through organisation change during the implementation of IT solutions.
- Excellent communication, diplomacy, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills.
- Solid experience in developing and managing large scale technology portfolios.
- Strong leadership capability and experience in influencing across high performing teams.
- Strong business and commercial acumen and strategic consulting capability to identify and develop opportunities aligned with business and technology strategies.
