**Description**:
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of IT, the IT Operations Lead is responsible for managing the day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the effective maintenance, enhancement, and upgrade of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity systems. This role will oversee the IT Infrastructure team, working closely with the broader IT team, LSC stakeholders, and external suppliers/partners.
About You
You have successfully completed one or more national IT infrastructure projects for a mid-sized organisation and are committed to delivering high levels of IT support to a growing business. You would like to gain more team leadership experience and improve and maintain IT suppliers with agreed SLAs.
Your broad responsibilities will include
- Ensure the reliable operation of IT infrastructure systems to support business continuity.
- Manage and support the IT Infrastructure team to drive efficiency and best practices.
- Lead the maintenance, enhancement, and upgrade of IT infrastructure and cybersecurity systems.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth IT service delivery.
- Effectively resolve very complex technical problems and requests, demonstrating advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
**Skills and Experiences**:
To be successful in the role, you will possess
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a technical team.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, particularly for complex IT challenges.
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders across different areas of the business.
- Strong vendor and supplier management experience.
- Proven ability to ensure high customer satisfaction by providing timely and effective IT infrastructure support, both directly and through the team.
- Some after-hours work may be required to support critical systems and minimise business disruption.
- Strong IT system aptitude with deep practical experience in setting up, maintaining, and configuring IT systems, including:
- Networking: MPLS/SD-WAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP network protocols.
- Servers & Cloud: Microsoft Windows, Azure AD, and VM-based servers.
- Telephony: VoIP and mobile telephony systems.
- Operating Systems & Device Management: Windows, iOS, and Android client operating systems (some Linux), Intune MDM device management, and patch management.
- Network Hardware: Network switch and router setup and configuration for both wired and Wi-Fi networks.
- Policy Management: Group policy management, conditional access policy, and vulnerability minimisation.
