**Position Purpose**:
The Team Lead for Applications will work closely with the Lead: Business Solutions and in the ICT Unit to ensure objectives are met and desired outcomes are achieved through cross-collaboration. The role requires a pragmatic person who can build relationships with ICT staff and associated stakeholders.
**Your Key Responsibilities**:
- Defines systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans
- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems development (and support) methods, tools and techniques selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches
- Ensures that senior management is both aware of and able to provide the required resources
- Facilitates availability and optimum utilisation of resources
- Monitors and reports on the progress of development projects, ensuring that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods and procedures (including secure software/ERP development)
- Develops road maps to communicate future development activity (i.e. ERP roadmap, integration, interoperability, data architecture, API)
- Aligns systems development to business strategies and objectives and with emerging technology and digital opportunities. Maintains an overview of the contribution of systems development programmes to organisational success
- Obtains organisational commitment to strategies to deliver systems and software life cycle working practices to achieve business objectives
- Works with others to integrate organisational policies, standards and techniques across the full software and systems life cycle
- Develops and deploys the working environment supporting systems and software life cycle practices for strategic, large and complex products and services
- Leads activities to manage risks associated with systems and software life cycle working practices. Plans and manages the evaluation or assessment of systems and software life cycle working practices
- Plans and drives systems development projects which support the organisation's objectives and plans
- Selects, adopts and adapts appropriate systems development methods, tools and techniques. Ensures that stakeholders are aware of required resources and that they are made available. Facilitates availability and optimum utilisation of resources
- Monitors and reports on the progress of development projects. Ensures projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods and tools and addresses security and privacy requirements
- Develops road maps to communicate future development activity
- Plans and drives activities to develop organisational systems integration and build capabilities including automation and continuous integration
- Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of tools, techniques and processes to create a robust integration framework. Provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of systems integration
**Your Qualifications & Experience**
- Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, or information technology-related discipline and several years' experience working within a corporate information technology environment establishing development and support practices.
- Experience in one of the four major ERP’s adapted for business use which includes, but not limited to, CIVICA, ORACLE, TECHNOLOGY ONE, INFOR
- Experience successfully leading and coaching teams
- Procurement and Vendor management experience
- ITIL V4 Certified or relevant experience
- Local government ICT experience preferred
