The Health Information Services (HIS) department is seeking a highly motivated and excellent receptionist to join our Richmond campus on a permanent part-time basis. Please note, you will be required to work onsite in this position, there is no capability to support working from home in this role.
**Responsibilities/Duties**:
- Answering telephone enquiries.
- Responding to information requests in accordance with the department’s release of information guidelines.
- Assigning patient identification to documentation received by internal/external stakeholders.
- Performing general department administration duties as required.
**To be successful in this role**
You will have:
- Previous experience in a customer service role and excellent customer service skills with a focus on meeting the needs of internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent time management and organisational skills in order to effectively coordinate the various processes and steps involved in the process
- Excellent organisational skills with a proven ability to prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a professional telephone manner, and an ability to clearly and coherently convey relevant information to all stakeholders, both internal and external to Epworth
- Intermediate working knowledge of the Microsoft Outlook Suite (primarily Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office)
- A solid work ethic, and an ability to work autonomously within a team in order to ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
- Proven high attention to detail and diligence to ensure correct patient information is released at all times
- Flexibility in a changing work environment with an openness to changing processes and procedures
**Desirable (non-essential)**:
- Previous experience as medical receptionist
- Previous experience with a Patient Administration System (iPM, WebPAS, TrakCare) and a Scanned Medical Record (BOSSnet or CPF)
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
