**The Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Health (CEH)** is a program of North Richmond Community Health. Uniquely, CEH offers expertise in cultural diversity and health, cultural competence, social marketing, cross-cultural communication and consumer participation and health literacy to organisations across Australia.
We assist other organisations to provide a high quality of service to clients from migrant and refugee backgrounds. Our clients include hospitals, government departments, local councils, health centres, community services and higher education providers. We support them with training, social marketing services, advice, resources and information.
The** Health Translations Project Officer (Collection) **(0.4EFT fixed term) will focus on our Health Translations (HT) project. Health Translations is an online library of high-quality, consumer-focussed translated resources that enable equitable access for people from refugee and migrant backgrounds to the Australian health and social services sector through the provision of relevant and reliable information in their first language. Resources such as Health Translations that make health information accessible to non-English speakers are critically important for refugee and migrant communities, as the recent experience of COVID-19 19 demonstrates.
As part of a small team of dedicated professionals, you will manage, maintain, and support the Health Translations project, you will:
- Your role will focus on the collection, and you will share some of the weekly tasks maintaining the database and its key functions.
- Review, edit, publish, and coordinate high-quality and accurate multilingual online content according to the content review schedule, which meets departmental standards.
- You will source, catalogue and publish translated materials as per Editorial Guidelines and that meet the requirements of the Collections policy.
- You will maintain the Editorial Guidelines, add to keywords and thesaurus developed for the collection.
**Key Selection Criteria**
Essential qualifications, attributes and skills include, but are not limited to:
- Demonstrated experience with web publishing using content management and other content production systems.
- Experience working in a community library setting.
- Demonstrated understanding of the public, human services, or community health sector.
- Experience in categorising and indexing resources for the collection.
- Demonstrated experience with web publishing using content management and other content production systems.

- A qualification in information and library studies would be desirable.
We are seeking someone to work 2 days per week, the actual days and hours of work can be negotiated. Hours need not be two full days. This role may suit a person returning to the workforce who need flexibility around school hours.
