Company Description
Nine is Australia’s largest locally owned media company - the home of Australia’s most trusted and loved brands spanning News, Sport, Lifestyle, and Entertainment. We pride ourselves on creating the best content, accessed by consumers when and how they want - across Publishing, Broadcasting and Digital.
Our Purpose: We shape culture by sparking conversations, challenging perspectives, and entertaining our communities.
We bring people together by celebrating the big occasions and connecting the everyday moments. Australia belongs here. We bring our purpose to life via three shared values: We walk the talk, turn over every stone and keep it human.
**Job Description**:
We are searching for an enthusiastic event coordinator with a "can-do" attitude to help us deliver Australia’s most prestigious portfolio of business events.
Your role will be to manage operational aspects of our events, including venue and supplier liaison, catering and signage; delegate registration and customer service for all live and virtual events; and some editorial operations tasks unique to the AFR.
In a typical week, you might spend 30% of your time on ticketing and registrations, 30% on event operations like check-in, catering and venue liaison, 30% on delegate communications and enquiries, and 10% on audience analysis and reporting.
This role will join a team with big ambitions - from day one, you will be working on high profile events and will be given the freedom and opportunity to make decisions and contribute to the growth trajectory of this nationally recognised portfolio.
Key tasks include:
- Manage new registrations, registration changes and refunds and analyse trends in audience and booking patterns
- Produce and manage pre
- and post-event delegate communications in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Manage delegate registration and check-in at events
- Manage feedback surveys and analyse audience data to produce detailed post-event reports
- Event management - including venue and supplier management and managing all event collateral.
- Collaborate effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders and monitor timeframes and budgets to ensure all operational tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role you will need:
- Previous experience in the events industry or similar, with focus on operations, ticketing, customer service or event management
- Excellent organisational skills with outstanding attention to detail
- Good written communication and customer service skills
- A friendly, professional, clear, confident and agreeable interpersonal style
- A good level of comfort with basic technology platforms
- Ability to handle a fast-paced, flexible environment with multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong motivation, work ethic and pride in your own work and in what we can achieve as a team
Ideally you would have:
- Experience with EventsAir
- An interest in core AFR areas like business, finance or politics
- Tertiary education in a related field e.g. bachelor's degree (any discipline) or vocational training in business, event management, hospitality, customer service etc.
