**The role**:
We have an exciting opportunity for a strategic, creative, and innovative Head of Individual Giving & Philanthropy to join the team at Make-A-Wish Australia.

Reporting to the Group Head of Fundraising and working closely with internal and external stakeholders you will be responsible for implementing and driving forward a progressive individual giving and philanthropy strategy across multiple channels comprising of direct marketing (digital and print), face-to-face, telemarketing, regular giving, trust and foundations, major donors, and gifts in Will.

The role is focused on maximising income from individuals, growing the number of individual supporters we have, increasing retention and financial value to ensure we can sustainably deliver great wishes.

Moreover, you will be responsible for enhancing the experience for donors through discovering the nuances of the various segments within our donor base and making appropriate recommendations to evolve our value proposition to our customers, designing solutions that deliver breakthrough growth and impact.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Develop and execute a donor strategy across multiple channels to deliver cash donor fundraising and supporter growth.
- Develop and implement integrated donor stewardship and retention strategies to build supporter engagement and retention across other giving channels at Make-A-Wish.
- Drive the marketing technologies and capitalise on the database marketing
- Set and take responsibility for the overall annual budget for the portfolio and complete periodic forecasts and variance reports as required.
- Source and oversee the management of any required external partners to meets our business needs and meets acquisition and retention targets.
- Work with the Marketing, Digital & Engagement and Data teams to develop and deliver regular data insight presentations on individual givers, including analysing and benchmarking data, campaign KPI’s and leverage insights to improve performance.
- Ensure the collaborative and effective use of wish content including a continual focus on effective storytelling and ensuring supporters are updated on story impact and outcome.
- Develop and implement an organisational wide conversation and cross-promotion strategy ensuring supporters are appropriately targeted and supported.
- Oversee the Individual Giving and Philanthropy team to ensure they effectively manage campaign budgets and achieve or exceed targets, departmental goals, and live the Make-A-Wish values.
- Undertake performance reviews and succession planning activities with all team members.

- An understanding of business mechanics in relation to planning, budgeting, financial forecasting, and basic business/legal structures.
- Strong commercial acumen and financial literacy
- The ability and desire to work collaboratively with other departments, leading by example for your group of direct reports.
- Strong coaching skills to support your team members and assist them with development opportunities.
- Good communication skills.
- The ability to think strategically and have sound knowledge of industry trends.
- The ability to make analytical decisions and develop innovative solutions.
