**Position Overview**
The position of Procurement Officer reports to the Assistant Director of Procurement and will work closely with line areas to procure a vast range of goods, services, expertise, including ICT arrangements and technical support services. The position will manage/support some or all aspects of the procurement process (i.e. procurement assistance and advice, industry engagement, approach-to-market and evaluation and contracting.)

The position will require a customer focus, excellent communication abilities and interpersonal skills to undertake work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability. The position is supported by a demonstrated working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and the government’s compliance framework.

**Key Duties**
Procurement Activities and Contract administration
- Provide accurate and specialised advisory services on the Commonwealth procurement policy framework to business area.
- Provide expertise and technical knowledge on key decisions in the procurement cycle and facilitating the attainment of "value for money" in procurement and contracting.
- Assist with development of all procurement documentation associated with all levels of procurement with the support by the procuring business owner.
- Draw on a strong understanding of contract review and amendments.
- Register and manage entire tender requirements via AusTender.
- Responsible for recording AusTender Contract Notices and maintaining Internal Contract Register.
- Assist with all analytical and reporting requirements within the procurement role, including but not limited to compiling information and report drafting for IPP Reporting, Senate Order, Questions on Notice, etc.
- Contribute to the development of Procurement objectives for strategic planning for team and business areas.

Contract Management
- Support business areas with contract management compliance advice and understanding of contract management deliverables.
- Support business areas with an understanding of risk assessment and risk management activities for the procurement and contract management.
- Maintain internal register and undertake procurement related reporting for new and expiring contracts.

Relationship Management
- Work as part of the team and support team and the Entity’s objectives.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders to achieve team and agency goals in delivering government policy and CPRs compliance.
- Assist in the management of suppliers to deliver agreed business outcomes.
- Create procurement management tools to support business areas with process and compliance.
- Assist with procurement training and creation of training modules.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated ability in delivering procurements throughout the entire procurement lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Commonwealth procurement and compliance framework.
- Demonstrated capability to review and amend contract drafts according to business requirements and risk.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and develop productive and strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
