**The Role**

The APS 6 Contract Manager is responsible for building and maintaining commercial and internal Defence stakeholder relationships in the delivery of MCPSPO contracted service offerings. They will build sound co-operative relationships with both their Suppliers and Defence stakeholders to ensure all parties are in alignment with Defence priorities and understand the capability requirements.
On a daily basis, they will also be accountable for procurement planning and contract management activities, to ensure compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes and procedures. Initiate and recommend mitigation strategies for the risks associated with contract management activities, supplier performance, and compliance with mandatory requirements.
They will manage supplier contracts and performance to ensure stakeholder satisfaction as per service agreements. In doing so they will use key performance indicators (KPIs), key health indicators (KHIs) to monitor and challenge performance, including identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. This role has people management responsibility and you will be required to exercise your people management skills and knowledge to lead and support in the position.
This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. **About our Team**
e MCPSPO within Maritime Systems Division is responsible for the delivery and advice of Cross-Class sustainment services across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, both domestic and offshore.
Our operating environment is complex and challenging, that requires exceptional contract and relationship management skills. MCPSPO is comprised of three functions including Commercial, Sustainment and Engineering cells. The teams bring together a diverse range of knowledge, skills, experience to deliver Cross-Class products and services to our maritime customers.
