**The Role**
Maritime Cross-Platform Systems Program Office (MCPSPO), located in the heart of Sydney CBD, is looking for a high performing, experienced Commercial Officer to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing Commercial solutions for the delivery of Cross Class sustainment.
As APS6 Commercial Officer, you will be responsible under broad direction for assisting in development of MCPSPO commercial governance and assurance requirements, and developing and maintaining stakeholder relationships in support of MCPSPO Commercial business objectives. You will provide holistic commercial support and be accountable for procurement planning, tendering and contract formation, ensuring compliance with legislation, Defence procurement policies, processes and procedures.
As part of your duties, you will:
- Contribute to tender evaluations, assist in negotiations, draft internal approval documents and enable contract signature on time.
- Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of MCPSPO commercial governance and assurance information and activities.
- Ensure all contract change proposals across all MCPSPO managed contracts are actioned on time.
- Engage and communicate with internal stakeholders and industry suppliers to identify issues.
- Provide timely advice on most suitable procurement strategies and sustainment solutions.
- Interpret and provide advice on commercial practices, undertake research and analysis for new generation contract formations.
**About our Team**
The MCPSPO within Maritime Systems Division, is the lead agency for delivery of cross-Class sustainment services and advice across the maritime environment. MCPSPO sustains and manages a range of complex military systems and supplies, through an extensive network of industry partners, domestic and off-shore.
Our operating environment is complex and challenging, and requires exceptional contract and relationship management and complex contract development skills. MCPSPO is comprised of three functions, including Commercial, Sustainment and Engineering cells.

They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work.
The APS 6 Commercial Officer will have considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or difficult contract development issues. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
