**About the role**

Our Rail Academy Team are looking for a Support Officer to be based on site in Newport with particular skills in customer service, organization and willingness to be hands-on to join their busy team. The team requires someone to help them continue to run a smooth operation at the Rail Academy.

On a day-to-day basis, you will find yourself:

- Open and close the centre, set up and pack up of the centre ensuring rooms and meals room are left in a clean and tidy state at the end of each day.
- Customer service duties including answering phones, taking bookings, and confirming classrooms and administration of the online booking system.
- Provide exceptional face-to-face and written customer service to users, stakeholders, contractors, and visitors the Rail Academy

This role is a part-time position (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) on a 12-month fixed term contract, paying a salary between $73,842 and $89,661 (pro-rata) + superannuation.

Your Manager has over 15 years’ experience in operations and project management, and she has a passion for mentoring her staff to ensure they can do their job to the best of their ability. She wants you to challenge yourself, strive to excel, and maintain great relationships with your team. She will encourage you, and is a hands-on leader - she will jump in and help the team without hesitation

Let’s get technical - what skills and requirements do we expect you to have?
- Organisational skills - you love a to-do list, and you love being able to tick tasks off each day to ensure smooth running of the Centre
- You are comfortable and confident working alone, as you’ll be opening up or locking up the Centre on your own when on shift. You also have the flexibility to work on Saturdays as required.
- You have tremendous people skills and thrive on giving visitors a great experience while at the Centre.
