About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager on a casual basis to help expand our customer base and promote our products and services to key customers in the rail industry. The role can be performed remotely or in a hybrid capacity, providing flexibility for the right candidate.

This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired rail industry professional with established networks and strong knowledge of the Australian rail industry who is looking for flexible, part-time engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage potential customers, including rail operators, rolling stock maintainers, and service providers.
  • Promote the company's product range and services, with a focus on spare parts, intelligent onboard components, design, manufacturing, global sourcing and overhual services.
  • Leverage existing industry knowledge and networks to generate new business opportunities.
  • Support tendering, quoting, and customer proposals as required.
  • Provide feedback on market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the rail industry (essential).
  • Strong industry network and relationships with operators, maintainers, or suppliers.
  • A self-motivated and proactive approach with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Flexibility to work casually and remotely.
