Reporting to the Eligibility Team Leader you will be responsible for providing proactive support to the claims team relating to the assessment of liability and the determination of claims. The role involves the investigating, strategizing, tracking, follow up and determination of complex claims to achieve the best possible outcome.

This position will require a high level of collaboration with the Claims Services Business Unit and the Technical Specialist Team to ensure proactive and accurate liability assessments of all claims.

**YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Assess all aspects of liability, recovery and quantum on appropriate claims pursuant to legislation, Return to Work SA guidelines and in accordance with authorised limits
- Meet required time frames and keep all key stakeholders informed of progress
- Proactively manage claim determinations for complex claims, ensuring clear documentation of actions throughout the determination process
- Support team member development through a structured file review program that will identify opportunities for improved outcomes (knowledge transfer).
- Maintain accuracy of claim determination data in RTWSA and EML’s systems

**ABOUT YOU**
- Previous experience handling liability claims alongside knowledge of the relevant worker’s compensation legislation would be advantageous
- Knowledge or exposure to handling different types of legislation
- Ability handle and make large volumes of inbound and outbound calls
- Effective communication and conflict resolution skills over the phone and face to face
- Effectively listen and understand the needs of the customer and what is important to them to enable their recovery and return to work
