**About the facility**
- Our major sites include University Hospital Geelong in Geelong’s CBD, the McKellar Centre precinct in North Geelong, Barwon Health North in Norlane, and residential aged care facilities spanning the region. Comprehensive mental health, community health and dental services are delivered through various programs across the Barwon South West Region, including Torquay and Colac.

**About the role**
- The primary objective of the WorkCover Coordinator is to provide expert Workers Compensation claims management advice and support to employees, managers and organisational leaders, ensuring Barwon Health is optimally managing employees in the WorkCover system and strategically mitigating legal and financial risks to the organisation.
- Qualifications
Essential:

- WorkSafe accredited Return to Work Coordinator qualification - Or willing to obtain the qualification
- Desirable:

- An Allied Health qualification, related degree, post-graduate injury management / rehabilitation qualification, or considerable equivalent experience
- A Mental Health qualification or experience working with people with a mental injury
- Experience and/or Specialist Knowledge
Essential:

- Considerable experience and technical knowledge in the Workers Compensation field, preferably in the health sector
- Expert knowledge of the WIRC Act 2013.
- Computer literacy and skill, including the proficient use of the internet, Word, Excel, Outlook and preferably Access.
- Excellent record keeping standards.
- High level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player, highly organised and an ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly-changing environment using highly developed problem solving skills.
- The ability to work proactively and independently.
- Desirable:

- Experience working within a WorkCover claims agent environment
- Experience working with an occupational rehabilitation provider
- Knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and regulations.
