**The role**:
An exciting opportunity is available to join a leading custodian bank in their custody operations team. This role will see you working in a fast-paced role managing the processing and settlement of market security trades, reviewing exceptions throughout the trade lifecycle, performing reconciliation analysis and managing other day-to-day tasks.
**Your Team**
Asset Servicing provides custody services to Wholesale Institutional clients based in Australia and overseas, primarily Superannuation Funds, Government Bodies, Fund Managers or Investment Houses. Services range from custody and settlement services to full accounting, taxation, member choice, wholesale and retail registry services and a range of compliance and measurement services.
The Domestic Debt & Equity Settlements team service the Australian market, utilising platforms such as CHESS and Austraclear to perform critical settlement functions as one of the leading market participants. These tasks include trade capture and processing, market settlement, review of trade exceptions, reconciliation analysis and management of client and fund manager queries.
**The role and day to day will include**:
- Actively use the required internal and external systems for settlement related activities, including pre-matching, settlement, and monitoring processes
- Investigate and manage trade exceptions throughout trade lifecycle
- Enter and process new trades into system to ensure we meet internal and external deadlines
- Help influence a continuous improvement mindset within the team, delivering key changes and improvements to process and procedure.
- Review and resolve reconciliation exceptions
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that instructions, enquires and queries are acted on efficiently and effectively.
**Your Skills and Experience**
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Strong team player, pro-active and the ability to prioritise needs whilst meeting tight deadlines
- Operations environment experience with good understanding of workplace processes, systems and operational risk
- Custody or settlement (securities or cash) experience is well regarded
