**About the Role**
Based within the University’s Development shared services team, the Development Associate will receive support in actively managing the solicitation and renewal of gifts from prospective and loyal donors. You will gain exposure to the University’s comprehensive and best-practice fundraising programs, including appeals, major gift fundraising, gifts in wills, trusts and foundations, leadership giving and Estate realisation.

You will be closely supported throughout your appointment and provided with opportunities to immerse yourself in the University’s philanthropic fundraising communities of practice, refining your skills along the way.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Actively manage the solicitation and renewal of gifts and pledges typically in the $10,000 - $50,000 range from individuals and corporations in line with the University’s overall priorities and direction
- Act as liaison for assigned donors and prospective donors in the development of proposals and other gift documentation, and to ensure compliance with the University’s Advancement Policy and Procedures, and the smooth transition to Gift Operations team members for effective recognition, retention, and stewardship strategies
- Achieve goals and metrics related to, solicitations, gifts and other critical KPIs.
**Who we are looking for**
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic professional who is eager to launch a career in philanthropy and higher education fundraising. You will have a strong passion for higher education and lifelong learning, outstanding interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues across Advancement. You will effortlessly complete tasks in a fast-paced, goal-oriented work environment while maintaining extreme attention to detail at all times.
Your background may include working with a variety of stakeholders, requiring strong verbal and written communication skills. You will be capable of handling challenging conversations, displaying perseverance and professionalism in high-pressure situations.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training as per the current Enterprise Agreement classification
- An engaging, collaborative style that is well suited to working constructively with alumni, volunteers, donors and a broad cross-section of university colleagues.
