**About the Role**
Working closely with Chancellery, Deans, Senior Academics and Senior Advancement colleagues, the Associate Director, Advancement Strategic Initiatives has specific responsibility for developing and framing University strategic initiatives, where philanthropy can play a critical enabling role. The University and its Faculties have ambitious plans, with significant expertise and programs that address critical societal needs.
This new senior position has been created to facilitate the identification and development of Advancement strategic initiatives: ensuring clear fundraising priorities that will provide the foundation for fundraising colleagues to engage donors in our most important work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Work in partnership with Advancement and academic colleagues to translate and shape complex ideas and opportunities into concise business cases, to inform compelling philanthropic opportunities.
- Implement processes to develop and frame agreed academic priorities, developing strategic initiatives where philanthropy can make a difference.
- Work in partnership with academic and fundraising leads to develop project plans, detailed business cases, budgets and supporting tools and collateral. This could include facilitating workshops, analysing data and financial modelling.
**Who we are looking for**
We seek a highly motivated senior individual with proven experience in strategic advice and complex stakeholder negotiations. Thriving in a self-directed environment, you'll develop and implement innovative solutions. Excellent relationship management and leadership are essential, with unwavering ethics and confidentiality, particularly for sensitive donor relations.
You will also have:
- An undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (with extensive relevant experience); or an equivalent combination of relevant extensive experience and education/training.
- Proven ability to operate at a creative and conceptual level, using initiative to identify opportunities, linkages and overcome challenges.
- Expert organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to absorb, interpret and articulate data and information from multiple sources to identify and prioritise actions.
- Excellent project/program management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines, work efficiently on multiple projects and adapt to changing circumstances, while delivering on project goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing business cases, budgets, reports, proposals and project plans.
