**About - Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences**
The Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry & Health Sciences has an enviable research record and is the University of Melbourne’s largest faculty in terms of management of financial resources, employment of academic and professional staff, teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate (including research higher degree) students and the conduct of basic and applied research.

**About the Role**
The Indigenous Development Manager will take a leadership role working closely with the Associate Dean (Indigenous Development) to address, reverse and eliminate Indigenous health inequalities.

You will provide a high level of strategic advice pertaining to policy and project development which align to the Faculty’s RAP whilst contributing to and overseeing Indigenous development projects such as Anti-Racism and Cultural Safety that will underpin the specific strategic responses to the Reconciliation Action Plan, Curriculum, Learning and Development and Cultural Safety in the Workplace.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide high level support and strategic advice for the Associate Dean (Indigenous Development) in achieving the strategic and operational outcomes.
- Build effective links and relationships with senior academic and professional staff within the Faculty and broader University to ensure effective and efficient outcomes responding to the RAP, including policy and project outcomes.
- Lead, develop and implement an Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism program that promotes cultural safety in the workplace and increases knowledge, awareness and understanding of the impact that unsafe environments play on faculty staff, students and the community.

**About You**
You will posses excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence effectively to build positive relationships, and communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders. You will have outstanding professional organisational skills including the ability to coordinate workflow, determine priorities, schedule tasks to meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands within a complex and high pressure environment. You will demonstrated highly strong leadership, communication, and team engagement skills.

You will also have:

- Tertiary qualification, with extensive relevant fundraising experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant extensive experience and/or education/training as per the current Enterprise Agreement classifications.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding in working with Indigenous communities or relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of the principles of cultural safety as it relates to building respectful dialogue, understanding and recognition with a focus on curriculum development and implementation.
- To ensure the University continues to provide a safe environment for everyone, this position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check._
