**The opportunity**

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for a Policy Officer to join the Agency Policy branch.

12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. APS 5 level role offering $55.24 hourly + Superannuation. This position will be based out of either Richmond or Geelong.

This is a hybrid position, offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 8-hour days expected.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Analysing and interpreting legislation, policies, strategies and program/project plans.
- Conducting research to inform policy and strategy design.
- Contributing to briefings, business cases and other executive material.
- Supporting managers at external forums and events.
- Providing information and guidance to people with disability, NDIS participants and the wider community.
- Contributing to the development of project plans and activities.

**About you**
- ** Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position**:

- Project management and administration skills and experience - tracking tasks across the project team, managing reporting and deadlines.
- Secretariat and governance experience - including being able to set up meetings, write agendas and minutes
- Brief and reporting writing experience - including experience in writing for government, in plain English and formatting documents.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible and adaptable when managing competing policy priorities
