The Asset Data Acquisition Manager is a position that sits in the Asset Intelligence Branch of the Assets and Engineering Division. The role supports the establishment and ongoing implementation, management, business reporting, assurance and continuous improvement of the transport asset data acquisition and assessment methodology necessary to achieve the efficient and timely delivery of requested asset data sets.

The role will ensure all asset data sets acquired meet the stated quality requirements for each specific asset data set request.

Will include significant engagement across Department of Transport and Planning internal and external stakeholders (e.g. asset management, enterprise data management, commercial management) will be required.

The Asset Data Acquisition Manager will require an active hands-on approach to achieve the position outcomes.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**
- **Effective Team Leadership **- The incumbent has provided effective leadership, people management and support to project team. Project team are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.
- **Project Management & Delivery - **The incumbent leads the successful project management and delivery of various asset data collection projects, including the elements of time, cost and quality management. Leads development, assessment and implementation of the selected procurement / collection option for each project, then completes and maintains key contract management documents and associated procurement requirements in accordance with the Department of Transport and Planning requirements, including the management of probity. Leads contract evaluation and technical oversight, review, verification, and acceptance of project deliverables prior to providing to the Asset Information Function for ingestion into the relevant Asset Data Platform for use by other parties. Routinely report project status in accordance with the Department of Transport and Planning requirements.
- **Asset Data Acquisition Requirements Quality - **The incumbent has facilitated and maintained the implementation of an agreed quality control / assurance process for each project to ensure data provided to the Asset Data Requirements Analytics and Reporting function meets all quality requirements as originally specified. This will include the efficient engagement with the necessary Department of Transport and Planning Subject Matter Experts or other parties to provide any necessary assurance functions in addition to those being provided by any party undertaking the physical asset data acquisition activities.
- **Effective Stakeholder Engagement - **The incumbent has established and maintained key relationships, communication and collaboration with necessary transport stakeholders, consultants and contractors to facilitate the efficient access, collection, analysis and agreement on effective collection and verification of asset information. Delivery of high-quality presentations and project reporting to project stakeholders, including data governance working group.
- **Asset Information Requirements - **The incumbent has provided project level leadership and direction to the development and implementation of asset information requirements for the acquisition and operations phases of each project. There are clearly documented asset information requirements and specifications for inclusion in Client Requirement Documents, ensuring the Department has the information it needs on its assets for ongoing management, operation, decision-making and reporting.
- **Asset Information Management **- The incumbent provides specialist advice and input into the development and maintenance of asset inventory and condition data assessment and governance guidelines, asset information requirements, asset condition information tools and processes.
- **Project Team and Workplace** - The Asset Data Acquisition Manager has promoted and supported a safe, inclusive and flexible team operation, including all third parties involved in each project. This will include ensuring compliance with all Department of Transport and Planning or Transport Operators requirements for all asset data acquisition field works.

**Qualifications and Experience**

**Mandatory**
- Recognised formal qualifications in relevant Engineering, Project Management, Data and/or Information & Knowledge Management.
- Proven industry experience in asset data acquisition and/or asset information & knowledge management, including compliance with best practice governance requirements under a quality system framework.
