**About the Team**
The Safety, Environment and Regulation division upholds safety and sustainability in our transport system. We’re working to deliver globally-recognised, safe, sustainable transport for our people, customers and the community.
Regulatory Operations Branch are responsible for ensuring safer people, safer vehicles, safer speeds and safer roads to protect Transport’s customers and NSW communities. This is achieved by:
- Delivering and supporting risk-based, outcome focused road safety regulation and engage with industry and other stakeholders to enhance safety and compliance across the transport network.
- Delivering efficient and effective regulation to ensure only fit and competent drivers and operators and compliant vehicles can use the transport network.
- Collaborating with other government departments on a consistent, easy to navigate and digital approach to enhance customer experience.
- Continuously improving and transforming regulatory and enforcement programs by analysing data and trends to improve safety, customer experience and community outcomes.
**The opportunity**
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Business Coordinator who is responsible for assisting in the provision of high-level business support services to facilitate the delivery of business operations to agreed standards.
The role involves coordination of the business planning processes for the branch, ensuring alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives, as well as providing assurance and regular reporting for senior management on a range of matters including establishment analysis.
You will also provide or source advice, technical expertise and operational support for the team and the various Directorates in the branch on a wide variety of business matters including all HR, finance and procurement submissions.
Additionally you may also need to draft or review correspondence, briefing notes and parliamentary material in relation to specific projects, initiatives and issues ensuring that submissions are accurate, timely and have appropriate signoffs and contribute to the sound financial management for the branch, including planning, budgeting, reporting and control.
The Business Coordinator will draft and manage business policies and procedures, manage information resource material, guide staff on record management protocols and drive compliance in business activities across the branch.
**About you**
We are looking for a high-level thinker with excellent communication skills both oral and written, who is proactive, with the ability to manage multiple tasks with constantly changing priorities.
You will be used to dealing with escalations, liaising with the Deputy Secretary and Secretary’s Offices ensuring that information is actioned and presented in a timely and appropriate manner, acting as the conduit between these and the various Directorates within the Branch.
Ideally you will have had experience in developing and implementing systems to ensure a compliant framework across the branch in relation to the business systems and processes for Records Mangement, Finance, Procurement and HR ensuring adherence to corporate administrative policies and procedures.
As you will be working closely with other members of the Business Services team, particularly the Business Support Officer, you will need to be a team player and capable of stepping in at anytime to undertake administrative and triaging activities performed by this role.
This is an exciting challenging role in an established, high functioning team that supports a large branch. You can use your full set of skills from high level to “hands-on” while constantly analysing the course of action required and demonstrating a high level of attention to detail in all matters.
**Salary and Benefits**
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 7 ($108,770 - $121,822) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
