
HR/people Advisor Manager

5+ years' HR experience, ideally in the hospitality industry
- Bachelor of HR, Business Management, Industrial Relations or related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in a similar level role
As HR/People Advisor Manager you will manage and oversee all aspect related to human resource support and services at our client in Sydney CBD, in accordance with the company’s contractual, statutory, regulatory obligations, and business objectives.
You will directly liaise with Employees, Managers, Director of Operations, Executive chef, CEO. Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organisation policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include completing agreed work projects; appraising company systems; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
The HR/People Advisor Manager will have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited information exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Importantly, you will need to be familiar with and comply with proper safety and health practices. To report any potentially or actually unsafe or hazardous conditions to your Department Head both orally and in writing. To ensure you are familiar with the emergency procedures for the business including your role. To report every work injury, illness or dangerous event to your Department Head including incidents involving staff, patrons or non-employees
**Key Accountabilities**
- Develop a clear employer brand and the Employer Value Proposition
- Improve employee engagement by creating an environment of trust and a platform for constructive, honest and when required anonymous feedback.
- Growth and upskilling with an emphasis on employee development, progression planning, reward and recognition and culture-based initiatives.
- Improve the TRP (training, recognition, and performance), team focus and moral with the addition of KPI’s and benefits.
- Payroll - approval, accuracy, compliance
- Recruitment
- Immigration and visa management
- (WHS), workers compensation, and injury management
**Industrial Relations & Labour Management**
- Ensure compliance with industrial relations legislation. Implement changes to policy and procedures as legislative changes require, ensuring that management are fully versed in all legal obligations
- Ensure that the conditions of the ‘Employee Enterprise Agreement’ are understood by all management personnel and implemented according to the spirit and intent of the agreement
- Liaise with the management team in relation to the management of payroll costs, ensure that a balance in maintained between achieving operational service standards and cost control. Encourage the promotion of operational efficiencies
- Proactively encourage new initiatives which further develop the Company’s ideal of being a preferred employer
- Ensure the integrity of our ‘Employment Hero’ labour management system and payroll processing system
- Manage the employee lifecycle; recruitment, onboarding, employee retention, offboarding.
**Leadership**
- Lead the HR function to develop and deliver agreed plans and stakeholder commitments. This includes development of the team and its members.
- Design and implement a pathway to shape the desired Company culture.
- Lead by example and role model the standards and behaviour expected from our employees and contractors.
- Ensure the behaviour of our team contributes to a positive relationship with all internal and external members.
**Technical**
- As custodian of the HR and Employment Hero systems, ensure they are designed and managed in accordance with agreed system requirements and plans. (Includes: employee relations, industrial relations, performance management, training and development, remuneration, recruitment, talent and retention management, Apprentice/Trainee programs
- Provide HR system design & optimisation support to the CEO | Director of Operations | Executive Chef | FC
- Implement improvement to processes within your control
- Provide HR support to the CEO | Director of Operations | Executive Chef | FC
- Provide HR support and services to team members.
**Business Strategy & Plans**
- Deliver business improvement and innovation programs and initiatives as agreed with CEO
- Provide advice and contributions to the CEO which supports the CEO in succeeding in their overall tasks (including the Company’s culture)
- Provide advice to fellow team members which supports them in succeeding in their tasks
- Manage, or support CEO to manage relationship with key stakeholders as follows:
- Employment Lawyers & Industrial Relations specialists
