**About the role**

Affirm Software have a great opportunity for a Technical Lead who is a self-starter with strong communication skills to join the team.

This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for end-to-end software development cycle and deliveries whilst having the added bonus of working on advanced IT Software and technology stack. You will also guide and mentor the Development team to refactor, extend and customize robust web solutions based on Java/J2EE and related technologies.

**What will you do?**
- Participate as a member of the company management team that meet monthly to review the business finances and participate to the making of business decisions;
- Communicate with the Business Advisory Board, Customer advocates and stakeholders to gather and capture requirements, recommending solutions and providing strategic direction;
- Design and architecture future directions of product development;
- Provide architect web-based solutions in accordance with business and technical requirements;
- Be personally involved in the Software development to ensure high quality standards are maintained (This is a hands-on role);
- Application configuration, tuning and capacity planning;
- Train and guide team members to deliver robust technical solutions and products;
- Ensuring AWS Infrastructure is secure and operational 24*7.

**About you**
- Degree Qualified in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar;
- 10+ years of hands-on Java experience in designing and developing scalable;
- Experience in Java 8 or higher, J2EE (JSP/JSTL etc), frameworks like Spring/Hibernate;
- Experience in JavaScript and related JS frameworks (jquery etc);
- Experience in Oracle database and SQL;
- AWS certificate desirable but not essential;
- AWS services;
- REST APIs, SOAP web services;
- Eclipse, Git;
- JUnit, Ant, Maven;
- Linux shell scripting;
- Tomcat / Nginx;
- Jasper Reporting;
- Creating AWS environment for white label new white label business partners and maintaining existing environment.
