As community **Allied Health Assistant**, you will support allied health clinicians provide treatment to disabled, paediatric and elderly clients in their own environments.

You will work closely alongside a team of experienced Speech Pathologists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists using a multi-disciplinary approach to care.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain a regular appointment cycle with clients;
- Liaise and maintain good communications with patients, particularly with respect to jointly setting goals in the development of treatment strategies and ensuring informed consent;
- Work a cross-section of clinical job roles as required, being willing to assist in services;
- Independently provide individual and/or group patient care under the direction and/or supervision of the treating Allied Health Professional;
- Provides written and/or verbal feedback to therapist about outcome of interventions;
- Following initial prescription and training by the therapist, the allied health assistant assists in the training of patients/clients in the use of basic and complex therapy equipment.

**Job Requirement**:

- Successful completion of at least the Certificate 3 (AHA) from a registered training organization. Needs to be able to demonstrate course content that is relevant to the field of intended practice, e.g. Certificate III in Allied Health Assistant or Allied Health undergraduate /Post graduate student in relevant discipline having completed a minimum of 1year;
- Experience in community/aged care/paediatric arenas;
- Working knowledge of VINCI software;
- Unrestricted current driver’s license.
