**About the role**

The Assistant Director, Procurement and Contracts, working under broad direction, will manage a range of procurement activities and contracts to support the department’s outcomes. They will liaise with business areas to provide support and guidance to staff undertaking procurement and contract management activities to ensure that such activities are carried out efficiently and appropriately. They will have a sound knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and will be responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of related policies and procedures and promote engagement and compliance within the department.

The Assistant Director, Procurement and Contracts, will be responsible for the management of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Treasury functions within the department. They will work collaboratively within a small team, leading junior members, to deliver an efficient and effective finance and procurement function, with a well-developed understanding of how quality financial information, and finance and procurement processes and policies, contribute to organisational performance.

The Assistant Director Procurement and Contracts will use their excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to nurture a culture of innovation and service delivery.
