Full-time Temporary with a Possibility of Permanency

The Assistant Director, Procurements and Contracts role operates within a major transformation program focused on establishing whole of government ICT capability to enable the ACT Government.

The Assistant Director, Procurements and Contracts reports to the Director, Commercial and Program Finance. The role is responsible to develop all procurement documentation and manage procurementactivities (primarily RFQ and RFT processes), as well as contractmanagementactivities with existing contracts.

This role manages the entire end to end procurement process, including evaluations’ reviews, timeframes, member engagement, and other stakeholders, in particular:

- Conduct assurance reviews and reporting for procurementactivities;
- Develop RFx documentation, conduct evaluations and negotiate contracts that demonstrate value for money.
- Provide ‘first line’ probity advice to ensure ethical behaviour during procurement processes.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Procurement ACT, and other relevant business areas;
- Promote and apply the ACT Government procurement framework, including relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, as necessary;
- Provide 'first line' probity advice to ensure ethical behaviour is maintained and exercised during the entire procurement process; and
- Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the Director, Commercial and Program Finance.

This role assists in managing the existing contracts, including:

- Work closely with the Director, Commercial and Program Finance on contract management related matters;
- Undertake minutes and relevant contract notes for contextual reference purposes; and
- Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed by the Director, Commercial and Program Finance.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

- A current ACT Government CMTEDD issued Personnel Vetting Program certificate (Baseline clearance equivalent) is required for this position, or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- This position does not require a pre-employment medical.
- Driver’s license class C is not essential.
- This position does not require a Working with Vulnerable People Check.
- This position does not involve direct supervision of staff.
- The position is based in the ACT.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home and designated office based.
