**ABOUT THE ROLE**:

- The genetic administrator will work closely with the team to ensure best patient care. They will also need to work independently gathering information from other health services to provide all relevant information to the genetic counsellors. This department is part of Mercy Perinatal who provides multidisciplinary care to high risk pregnant women.
- Genetics department at Mercy Hospital for Women, Heidelberg
- Permanent part-time 4 days a week
- Complement and support the strategic direction and management of Genetic Services by coordinating and delivering all areas of office administration for the Department
- The role is required to consult and liaise with multiple external agencies, liaising with all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff across Mercy Hospital for Women and other hospitals and genetic services

**ABOUT YOU**:

- To secure this interesting and challenging role, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly organised, flexible and self-motivated. The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to interact with patients with high level sensitivity and care within a Genetic Counselling setting.
- You will be required to work both independently as well as within a team environment, and possess excellent communication and consultation skills and a high level client-focus.
- Drawing on sound judgement and problem-solving skills you will exercise individual judgement when consulting with internal and external bodies and when assessing and referring patients.
- To be successful you will have a Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) qualification (or working towards)
- Prior experience in a Genetics Clinic or hospital setting would be desirable.
- Excellent organisational ability with attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines
