About You

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for international education and a knack for operational excellence? RMIT is seeking a dynamic Strategic Operations Lead to play a pivotal role in delivering our international student recruitment priorities across a diverse global footprint. This newly created role sits at the heart of our international recruitment function, supporting the Assistant Director and working closely with regional teams across South Asia, Southeast Asia, China, Africa, and Latin America.

You’ll lead the operational rhythm of international recruitment—tracking performance, surfacing risks, and driving delivery. From coordinating annual recruitment planning cycles and refining tools, to consolidating regional plans and preparing leadership updates, you’ll ensure alignment, consistency, and momentum across markets. You’ll collaborate with offshore teams and internal stakeholders to operationalise strategy, dive into market-level data to identify early signs of risk or opportunity, and support regional leads in course-correcting. This is a hands-on, high-impact role with strong visibility and the opportunity to shape how RMIT delivers on its international recruitment strategy.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Strong understanding of international student recruitment within a higher education context, including awareness of key source markets, sector trends, and the policy settings that shape recruitment priorities and operations.- Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating and delivering strategic recruitment initiatives, with a proven ability to translate priorities into actionable workplans and drive delivery across cross-functional and regional teams.-
- Experience in supporting the coordination of distributed or offshore teams, including contributing to mobilisation, workflow alignment and consistent ways of working in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.- Strong documentation and operational process skills, with experience developing tools, reports, briefings or frameworks that support planning, uplift team capability and enable effective execution of international recruitment strategy.

The function strives to provide the best possible experience for prospective students across all our markets — domestic, international (onshore & offshore).

The Global Student Recruitment Team leads all sales and direct recruitment activities. It also includes international admissions activities, international student services, global learning, sponsorship development, and agent management.
