**Context of the Role**

Founded in 1858, Melbourne Grammar School educates some 1,800 students from Prep to Year 12. It aims to develop fully within its students the ‘whole person’: intellectually, physically, emotionally, psychologically, socially and spiritually.

The School is organised into three campuses to meet the needs of different age groups. Our Junior School, Grimwade House (Prep to Year 6) is located in Caulfield, and is coeducational with 650 girls and boys. The Middle School, Wadhurst (Years 7 and 8), and Senior School (Years 9 to 12) are in South Yarra and cater for 1,150 boys - day students and boarders.

The School employs 400 teaching and professional staff. As an independent entity, it is responsible for managing its own finances to ensure that it remains well placed to carry out its key objective - to provide the highest quality education to its students.

The Human Resources Department provides leaders, managers and staff with advice and support across the entire employee lifecycle.

**Purpose of Role**

The HR Recruitment Lead proactively partners with leaders in to provide high quality HR support, in areas such as talent attraction, recruitment and retention.

Working closely with members of the HR team to deliver resourcing solutions, this position will focus on: - Creating solutions to attract, source and retain talent
- Application of HR policies, practices and legislation
- HR data management and reporting
- Onboarding and induction programs
- Projects and initiatives undertaken by the Department.

This is a role that requires an understanding of contemporary human resource practices and a commitment to the provision of high quality and proactive human resources services within an educational environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

The following responsibilities are not exhaustive, nor necessarily in order of priority, but are indicative of the range and nature of the role.
- Collaboration with the Human Resources team to provide end to end recruitment support to managers, including liaising with Section Heads to determine resource requirements
- Deliver best practice recruitment, ensure compliance with legislation and Awards
- Co-ordination of temporary resourcing processes to meet demands of the School
- Management of onboarding process and administration of employee data
- Coordinate student teacher and graduate/intern programs; actively managing the relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure recruitment policies and procedures are adhered to
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with recruiting managers and external recruitment agencies
- Assist in the development and review of job descriptions when required
- Conduct and co-ordinate onboarding and inductions for new staff
- Undertake HR operations, including HR administration, the preparation of employment contracts and correspondence, maintaining staff data and records management processes
- Liaise with employer and employee organisations, industry groups and peers to keep abreast of current human resource issues and best practice
- Deliver Inductions and training programs where appropriate
- Participate in projects or other ad hoc activities and projects as requested by the HR Director

**Desirable**
- Previous experience coordinating end-to-end recruitment and onboarding processes
- Demonstrated understanding of HR information systems and/or Learning Management systems - Capacity and interest in improving and developing HR processes and systems
- Proven ability to provide a broad range of Human Resources services and an understanding of the related legislative and industrial relations obligations
