Compliance Officer

We are on the hunt for a number of **Compliance Officers - Monitoring & Assurance**, where you’ll be responsible for assessing the effective implementation of compliance standards to meet local regulatory and global head office obligations. Your key activities in this role include reviewing and challenging control testing outcomes, undertaking independent testing, performing thematic assurance reviews, and ensuring we meet our compliance regulatory reporting obligations.

**What are you going to do? You will be**
- Performing second line monitoring activities aligned to the Compliance Monitoring Plan in order to assess the design and effectiveness of controls
- Performing second line assurance reviews on key compliance topics to ensure ING’s compliance with relevant obligations.
- Engaging with business stakeholders to present findings, identify and track improvement actions
- Supporting key deliverables across the Compliance Monitoring and Quality Assurance team, including providing oversight across Compliance events and issues, developing reporting/insights, and ad hoc projects as required
- Supporting the Compliance function in proactively developing, managing and maintain a best practice compliance framework, enhancing systems and processes to ensure that ING is compliant by desire and design

**What are we looking for? Someone who has**
- Relevant knowledge and understanding of legal, regulatory and industry code obligations as they relate to ING including but not limited to understanding of obligations under Privacy Act, NCCP, and Banking Code of Practice.
- Understanding of risks and controls applicable to financial services organisation
- Experience across control testing, performing an assurance review, and assessing compliance with obligations as well as identifying observations for improvement
- An analytical mindset with the ability to research, interpret and assess compliance with applicable obligations and identify potential issues quickly and co-ordinate for acceptable outcomes with relevant stakeholders
- Commercial acumen and judgement, including the ability to evaluate impact and response to emerging risks and changes in prudential requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, building strong rapport, as well as experience with senior management reporting
- Degree qualified in accounting, commerce, law or a related disciple, with 3+ years’ financial services experience
- 1-2 or more years’ experience within risk management, compliance, assurance and/or audit within another financial institution or audit firm
