We are currently seeking a Compliance Officer to join our team and lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our compliance framework. This is a pivotal role that ensures our operations, people, and projects align with all relevant legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Role Overview

The Compliance Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of compliance across Polyglot Group. This includes ensuring adherence to statutory obligations, internal policies, and ethical standards, as well as leading initiatives related to data protection, risk management, and corporate governance.

This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and works closely with Heads of Departments and operational teams across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Compliance Governance & Risk Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and frameworks across the organisation
  • Conduct internal audits of business operations, processes, and controls
  • Maintain and update compliance and risk registers
  • Lead the implementation of third-party risk management and business continuity planning
  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely communication and adaptation

Data Protection & Information Security

  • Serve as the organisation's Data Protection Officer (DPO)
  • Oversee compliance with GDPR, APP, and other relevant regulations
  • Lead employee training on information security and data protection
  • Collaborate with IT and operational teams to ensure robust security protocols

Policy Development & Training

  • Coordinate the creation, review, and dissemination of internal policies and procedures
  • Work with HR to ensure effective onboarding and education on compliance matters
  • Advise senior leadership and department heads on compliance obligations and risk mitigation

Contract & Agreement Oversight

  • Review and improve contract templates and agreements
  • Provide compliance guidance during contract negotiations and renewals
  • Lead client and supplier compliance audits and manage external reviews

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as a key advisor to internal stakeholders on compliance-related matters
  • Support operational teams in embedding compliance into daily processes
  • Ensure registrations with relevant authorities are maintained and up to date

Continuous Learning & Development

  • Stay up to date with regulatory developments across Polyglot Group's operating sectors
  • Deepen understanding of service delivery processes and industry trends
  • Engage in professional conversations on HR, cross-cultural issues, outsourcing, and the job market
  • Proactively seek out resources and tools that enhance compliance effectiveness

Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a compliance, governance, or risk management role
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and corporate governance standards
  • Experience conducting internal audits and managing compliance programs
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and sound judgment
  • Familiarity with governance frameworks and risk management methodologies
  • Strong project management skills, including resource coordination and change management
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are advantageous but not required
  • Strong business acumen and exemplary work ethic
