Bis are now currently recruiting for a Technical Development Coordinator to join our Optimisation Team at our Tomago Office in NSW. Reporting to our Quality Compliance and Technical Supervisor, this role has the responsibility, authority, and accountability to ensure all workshop employees have the technical competency and suitable experience to perform their roles within the workshop environment.
This role requires you to collaborate with the Workshop Manager to ensure Bis are monitoring and managing the training requirements for all its employees from Apprentices through to Qualified Tradespersons, new and existing and ensure that their skill requirements are aligned with the Bis’ training matrix.
This role is an ideal opportunity for a Mechanical Tradesperson who has an interest in developing, implementing, coordinating and maintaining safe work procedures, processes, and training in accordance with Bis’ and legislative requirements.
**Key responsibilities for this role include**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain safe work instruction procedures for all Bis equipment maintenance and promote high safety awareness.
- Develop, co-ordinate, and monitor procedural systems, processes and training in accordance with Bis’ and legislative requirements.
- Monitor and manage training requirements of all employees to ensure skills requirements are met.
- Undertake regular inspections and task observations to ensure a safe work process and environment.
- Undertake regular task observations to ensure compliance is met.
- Ensure that all apprentices are being provided the required experience that is in parallel with their training plan.
- Develop and implement a training plan for all new employees joining the business that is aligned with Bis’ training matrix.
**The successful applicant will possess**:
- Trade Qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field with Diesel Engine Systems experience
- Cert IV in Training and Assessment (advantageous)
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (highly desirable)
- Sound understanding of interpreting schematics (desirable)
- Detailed working knowledge and understanding of current specifications and attributes of Underground Mining Equipment. (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships within all levels of the business.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and initiative.
- Intermediate MS Office suite skills
- Excellent organisation skills including the ability to manage fluctuating workloads and conflicting priorities.
- Strong focus on safety and quality of work.
