**THE ROLE**

An exciting opportunity to join the Pricing Operations department, based in Sydney, is now available. As the Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for creating bespoke prices for Origin’s largest customers (across electricity, gas and carbon/environmental) and other large tenders to Retail, Origin Zero and Wholesale. Ensuring that they align with the Origin Energy’s strategic portfolio and risk objectives.

The position is responsible for reporting and analysis, that supports the development of pricing methodologies and risk decision making. The analyst is integral to ensuring that wholesale contract repositories are maintained, which are critical for the company’s accurate demand forecasting, financial forecasting, and wholesale position management.

Further responsibilities will include;
- Supporting the Electricity and Gas Portfolio teams. This includes providing analysis of portfolio risk associated with specific customers, segments and/or products to support decisions regarding physical and financial trading. This analysis informs decisions on the investment in and deployment of physical and financial assets to meet Origin’s strategic objectives including managing market share in both volume and customer numbers and realising portfolio optimisation through customer diversification.
- Responsible for identifying risks associated with Large Customer products.
- Proactively provide business intelligence and insights to key sales leads to help inform and optimise sales strategy.
- Maintaining and improving robust operational processes and procedures.
- Ensuring pricing is approved in accordance with the Commodity Risk Management System.
- Maintaining wholesale contract repositories (Moneta/GETS), ensuring changes are reflected accurately and promptly.
- Meeting or exceed service levels agreed with other business groups, in particular Wholesale Portfolio, Demand Forecasting and Business Energy. The position is required to effectively communicate with a range of internal counterparties to achieve competitive and timely responses to tenders.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- High attention to detail with an ability to identify system/ process weaknesses and risks and use analytical and conceptual thinking to resolve issues.
- Ability to manage competing priorities to demanding time constraints.
- Ability to implement change effectively, displaying personal flexibility.
- Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships and can work cooperatively with people from a wide range of disciplines.
- Able to work independently or in a team environment with a wide range of functional activities.
