**Join Our Team as a Facility Assistant - Animal Management Facility**:
**About the role**:
As a Facility Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of the Tweed Shire Council Animal Management Facility. Reporting to the Facility Officer, you’ll be responsible for:

- Observing and reporting animal health and behaviour.
- Administering medication and providing basic first aid under veterinary guidance.
- Cleaning kennels, catteries, and livestock areas to maintain hygiene and meet husbandry standards.
- Assisting with facility presentation and laundry duties.
- Updating records in Council systems and external databases such as the Companion Animal Register (CAR).
- Providing respectful and helpful customer service, including processing payments.
- Handling sensitive situations with tact and professionalism.

This role requires a practical understanding of animal management facilities and associated tasks, including euthanasia.

- **We are seeking**:

- Certificate II in Animal Care Services (or equivalent) and experience handling companion animals and livestock in commercial or regulatory settings.
- Ability to manage anxious, aggressive, or fearful animals; knowledge of animal husbandry, disease prevention, and breed-specific behaviours.
- Strong customer service skills, especially in sensitive situations, with accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Proficiency in basic computer software and Council systems.
