We are looking for someone who is as passionate as we are about our newest recreational activities for our region including the Northern Rivers Rail Trail and Uki Mountain Bike Park. You must love the outdoors, being active and engaging with people, user groups and external contractors.

This new role requires flexibility with a weekly roster which may include weekends.

**About the role**:

- responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of our region's newest recreational facilities, with a strong focus on high safety standards, quality infrastructure, and excellent guest experiences.
- asset management planning, inspections and maintenance for all built and natural assets along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail (24kms of surface, 26 bridges, 2 tunnels, signage and safety devices, 7 rest stops/shelters and the state heritage listed Murwillumbah Railway Station MBT trails and the Uki Mountain Bike Park (8 MBT trails (1 climbing trail, 7 descending trails - 3green, 3 blue and 1 black diamond), pump track and staging/entry area).
- no two days will be the same, from coordinating asset and vegetation maintenance schedules to liaising with user groups other council services, Rail Trail partner councils, adjoining landowners, station tenants and assisting guests who use the facilities, you'll enjoy a diverse range of tasks that keep you engaged and challenged.
- working relationships and high levels of engagement with external contractors, Station tenants and facility user groups including Tweed Valley Mountain Bike Riders Club.
- working in some of the most picturesque settings our region has to offer and with the right fleet and tools to do the job.
- education and enforcement of the _safety tips and rules_ _for both facilities, overseeing safety compliance, with precinct rules and lease conditions at the Murwillumbah Railway Station.

- a building trade qualification and relevant experience in built and natural asset maintenance
- experience in scheduling and programming maintenance tasks, including vegetation maintenance

- a person with a passion for the outdoors and commitment to maintain the Rail Trail and Uki Mountain Park to the highest safety standards for residents and visitors.
