We are seeking a trade-qualified fitter who is passionate about providing secure, reliable, affordable, sustainable and high-quality drinking water supply and wastewater services to our community and protection of the environment.
**About the role**:
As a Fitter as part of our Water and Wastewater Operations team, you will undertake the maintenance, repair and upgrade of water supply and sewerage facilities, pumping equipment, fixed plant and mechanical equipment. This equipment is located at numerous treatment plants, pumping stations, and reservoirs, along the water and sewer networks across the Shire. These are essential services and the community expects a high level of reliability and performance. You will also experience variety by providing mechanical and fitting services to other sections of Council on occasion.
The position is required to be part of a shared "On Call" rotating roster, to provide emergency response to mechanical breakdown of critical water supply and sewerage plant and equipment.

- **We are seeking**:
- a trade certificate in Fitting and Machining or a Mechanical field with a broad range of trade skills preferably related to the water or production industry
- knowledge of a broad range of mechanical equipment and control found in today’s sophisticated water and sewerage treatment and transport facilities
- a current drivers licence class C or equivalent (MR license desirable)
- ability to lead and direct staff (including apprentices and trades assistants), to work unsupervised and to assess and plan works
- ability to work in confined spaces, unhygienic and potentially high-risk environments
- demonstrated knowledge of workplace safety procedures
