**Victorian Integrated Cancer Services**

The Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS) are Victoria's cancer services improvement network. They build relationships between healthcare providers and other cancer care stakeholders to develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that improve the way Victoria’s health services provide care and support to people affected by cancer.

The North Eastern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS) main office is based at Austin Health and hosts the **VICS Communications Manager**. This role is employed by Austin Health, managed by the NEMICS Manager, and responsible for delivering VICS communications activities.

**Position Purpose**

This leadership role will deliver Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS) communications, brand, marketing, digital, and communications resources.

Key functions of the role include:

- Work in collaboration with the VICS Program Managers, VICS communications staff, and VICS program staff to deliver activities aligned with the VICS Implementation Plan, Brand Communications Strategy, and Communications Workplan
- To deliver growth and excellence in VICS brand and visibility, knowing our audiences, stakeholder engagement, expanding our channels and campaigns, and telling compelling stories
- Deliver strategic communications, brand, social media, digital, event, and media expertise to raise the profile of the VICS and promote VICS funded programs of work
- Coordinate, guide, and mentor the VICS Communications Peer Group and local ICS communications staff, promoting consistency in activities and collateral
- Manage and update the VICS Brand Communications Strategy, Brand Guidelines, and Workplan.
- Manage and oversight the central VICS social media, electronic direct mail, event promotion, advertising, and publications
- Produce content for use across the range of VICS communications channels with the understanding of accessibility and usability
- Develop and implement innovative and strategic marketing and communications campaigns across all channels and monitor performance
- Work with consumers / volunteers to develop proactive and reactive media opportunities, creating posts linked with blogs, news, and stories of interest
- Work collaboratively with VICS program staff, the VICS State Coordinators, and the Department of Health, Cancer Support, Treatment and Research team.
