**About this role**
Reporting to the Head of Cyber Security, the Cloud Security Specialist will support the day-to-day operations of the in-place security solutions and the identification, investigation, and resolution of security detections by those systems. They are responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, to ensure protection of sensitive data, access controls, and ensuring compliance in alignment with industry standards.
**Key responsibilities**
**The day-to-day**:
- Identify current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Monitor existing security tooling for suspicious activity, security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Support the maintenance of incident response procedures and participate in security incident investigations alongside our MSSP.
- Be a champion for cyber security across the organisation educating the workforce on information security through delivery of awareness sessions and training.
**Cloud Security Architecture and Design**:
- Collaborate with the digital team to design and maintain secure cloud architecture, zero trust architecture, considering factors such as network segmentation, access controls, encryption, and compliance.
- Determines baseline security configuration standards for operating systems (e.g., OS hardening), network segmentation and identity and access management (IAM)
- Evaluate existing security controls across the GT environment and recommend improvements based on industry best practices.
**Cyber Risk Management**:
- Execute on the cyber security strategy supporting the development and maintenance of the cyber security roadmap in alignment with the Grant Thornton Security Framework and ensure compliance with relevant standards (NIST, ISO27001)
- Assess security risks across the GT environment with particular focus on risks associated with cloud architecture and recommend mitigation strategies.
**Skills and experience**
- Knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques.
- Practical experience with content filtering, vulnerability scanning and anti-malware.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles, network security, data loss prevention and identity management.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management methodologies (ISO27001, NIST, E8 etc)
- Proficient in Azure Cloud services including Azure Security Centre and Active Directory or equivalent (AWS, GCP)
