Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Cloud Security & Automation Engineer to lead a unique and critical challenge in cloud security automation. This role is at the forefront of a cutting-edge project with the goal of achieving true end-to-end security automation across our complex infrastructure. You will be the technical authority responsible for designing and building a pioneering system that automates security configurations across multiple platforms. This is a role that demands innovation and creative problem-solving, perfect for an expert who is truly passionate about security and wants to make a significant impact by building the future of automated DevSecOps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the solution design and technical strategy for complex cloud security automation projects.
• Develop and maintain robust automation pipelines using Python, Terraform, and GitHub Actions to manage infrastructure and security configurations as code.
• Build and enhance our observability stack (e.g., Grafana, Prometheus, Chronosphere, Observe, Calyptia) to ensure high visibility into our edge infrastructure.
• Champion DevSecOps best practices, embedding security principles into our CI/CD processes for cloud infrastructure.
• Act as a technical leader and mentor for other engineers, providing training and guidance on edge security, automation, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
• Manage and scale critical cloud infrastructure components, including WAFs, Firewalls, Proxies etc.

Experience:

• Mandatory, expert-level experience with Akamai, including its API, Property Manager, and security products.
• Proven experience in solution design and systems architecture, particularly for automation and infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in DevSecOps and CI/CD, with hands-on expertise in GitHub Actions, Terraform, and Python.
• Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure, including Proxies, WAFs, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and auto-scaling principles.
• Practical experience with modern observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Chronosphere, Observe, or Calyptia.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and training fellow engineers.

Bonus Points For:

• Experience with AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit).
• Prior experience working in environments compliant with PCI-DSS or ISO 27001.
• A background in supporting highly scalable SaaS platforms within the Financial Services, High-Frequency Trading, or Superannuation industries.
• Direct experience with Cloudflare's platform and APIs.
