6-Month Contract | Sydney CBD | Australian Citizen (preferably with AGSVA Baseline Clearance)

Our client is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Cloud Specialist to provide expert guidance across multiple cloud implementation projects. The successful candidate will work closely with internal staff, service integrators, and external engineers to ensure all solutions align with the organisation's cybersecurity policies and cloud best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Project Manager, the resource will:

  • Guide and review cloud cybersecurity designs and policy implementations
  • Validate project designs and tasks to ensure alignment with required outcomes
  • Ensure compliance and industry standards
  • Complete weekly timesheets to record hours worked

Projects include (but are not limited to):

  • Azure M365 migration
  • AWS Landing Zone Accelerator
  • AWS Connectivity Hub
  • Deployment models & Infrastructure as Code
  • GitHub design & implementation

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

  • Certifications:
    AWS and Azure Cloud (e.g., AWS Security Specialty SCS-C02, Azure Security Engineer Associate AZ500, Cybersecurity Expert SC100/SC400)
  • Security Clearance:
    AGSVA Baseline
  • Experience:
    2–3 years' hands-on experience in cloud security design and implementation across AWS and Azure

Azure skills:

  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Azure Arc
  • Azure Lighthouse, Entra Conditional Policy, and PIM (custom permission sets)
  • Azure Policy Authoring (aligning to ISMS, NIST, CIS standards)
  • (Desirable) Sentinel & KQL
  • Strong ability to audit, analyse, and remediate security control gaps

AWS skills:

  • Multi Landing Zone environments (Landing Zone Accelerator preferred)
  • Security Hub, GuardDuty, Macie, Control Tower
  • Advanced IAM and RBAC controls (SCPs, RCPs, custom permissions)
  • Policy authoring aligned to ISMS, NIST, CIS frameworks
  • Experience remediating security control gaps
