Cloud Architect - Contract Opportunity

  • Australian citizen eligible for Baseline security clearance (no visas, including PR)
  • 5+ years as an Application Solutions Architect in on-prem, cloud, and hybrid setups
  • Hands-on Federal Government experience building and running apps in mixed environments
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft stack: Office 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, Azure DevOps
  • Strong grasp of Azure: Cloud Adoption Framework, scalable HA designs, enterprise monitoring/alerting, recovery/backup
  • Proven track record across enterprise networks in on-prem, cloud, hybrid
  • Ability to deliver and document solutions that fit ops constraints and strategic goals
  • Sharp comms skills to bridge business and tech teams

We're building our merit pool for sharp Cloud Architects ready to tackle federal gigs. 12-month contracts, hybrid across QLD, WA, ACT, VIC, NSW, NT, SA, TAS - prefer Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide or Hobart bases, with occasional Canberra travel (1-2x/quarter). 40 hours/week max, starting ASAP to June 2026, with 12-month extension option.

Dive into modernising apps, crafting roadmaps, reviewing deployments, spotting risks, and guiding teams on scoping/costing new services. It's all about strategic tech direction in a client-focused federal world.

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience as an Application Solutions Architect in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Experience assisting Federal Government in building and operating applications/services in on-premises, full cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft development practices, platforms, and technologies including Office 365, SharePoint, Dynamics 365, and Azure DevOps
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure architectures, services, platforms, and operations including Cloud Adoption Framework, scalable/highly available architectures, enterprise monitoring/alerting, and recovery/backup methodologies
  • Experience across enterprise networks in on-premises, full cloud, and hybrid environments
  • Proven ability to deliver and document solutions aligning with requirements, operational constraints, and strategic vision
  • Strong documentation and communication skills to translate between business and technical teams

Desirable Criteria

  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure DevOps including agile methodologies, pipeline management, service integrations, repository/branching management
