The Program Officer has responsibility for assisting with the management of the Private Hospitals Program which aims to ensure that veterans have access to hospital services. The role would suit a highly motivated person with good communication, analytical and interpersonal skills who can work well within a small team.

**Duties**
- Providing program advice to stakeholders including interpreting legislation to respond to queries.
- Undertaking analysis including data analysis to assess program effectiveness and to review and improve existing policy, guidelines procedures and practices.
- Contributing to briefs and submissions for senior management, the Repatriation and Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commissions and the Minister on policy and/or program issues.
- Assisting with assessing proposals for new services and drafting procedural or technical manuals, guidelines, information packages and other communication products to support the delivery of the private hospital program.

**Notes**

A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
